What is The Bridge Project?
The Bridge Project is a Christian organisation that has been running for over 10 years. Working with a team of employed staff and many volunteers, we spend most of our time with children and young people.
We regularly teach Christian-based lessons and present assemblies at primary and secondary schools along certain themes. These include Expressions of Worship, Books of the Bible, Who is Jesus?, Medical Ethics, Authority of Scripture, Marriage, Change, Stewardship and Kindness.
At The Bridge we run or assist in the running of after school and lunchtime clubs/Christian Union groups and also a drama club.
We offer full-day packages for primary schools aimed at year 6 students called 'Celebration of Change' which support and encourage the children as they take the first steps into secondary school.
We have a 6 week package which we use when working with young people who are struggling with behavioural issues where students complete a DVD-making project.
In the last few years we have been running a programme called 'Oasis' which aims to help young people who are struggling with school attendance to re-integrate back into school life.
The work of The Bridge Project is supported by local churches and individuals. We do not receive government funding but do occasionally receive grants from organisations across the country that wish to support our work.
