What is the point of X:site?
At The Bridge Project we are well aware that many church congregations are already providing their children with fantastic Sunday Schools, holiday clubs, Summer events etc etc. X:site events are not designed to replace the valuable work that is already taking place within churches! Instead they are designed to give children another opportunity to learn about Jesus in a lively and exciting environment where they can make many new friends and recognise that they are part of a larger Christian community. These events are intended to provide Children's workers and church leaders with another direction to point children in when the Summer event is over or the holiday club has finished.
As the body of Christ in South Wiltshire we are sure that we all share the same desire - to see the future generations growing with a foundation of biblical truth in their lives, a revelation of Jesus love for them and an understanding of salvation through Christ.
X:site events have an evangelistic basis and intend to teach biblical truths in a relevant and exciting way. Being run by members of local churches is a wonderful opportunity for greater unity within the body of Christ in South Wiltshire as we work together for the sake of local children.
Please pray for these events as they take place every 2 months and do take on the vision with us to see an impact made on the children of South Wiltshire as they have another opportunity to encounter Jesus. We are very excited that at least one representative from 12 congregations in the area is currently on the X:site team, but with over 50 churches in the South Wiltshire area, it would be wonderful to see even more congregations working with us, supporting us in prayer and advertising these events to congregations and children. We need as many team members as possible so that as many children as desire to come to the events are able to. Legally we require a certain ratio of adults to children, but for comfort purposes we would like more than the legal amount.
